Last month, we shared our first income report and we decided to keep it going this month. For those who missed it, this tech site made $17,600 from Amazon Associates and Mediavine ads.

We added a total of 130 articles throughout August, and I think it’s safe to say that investment is paying off.

September was no different. We upped our content production and saw our earning increase by $4,292.38. Pretty decent if you ask me.

Articles Added in September

The month of September, we were able to publish a total of 212 articles. 99% of the articles were what TextGoods refers to as Small, meaning they were 750-800 words each.

Every writer and editor that contributed to the site is a part of the TextGoods team, meaning they all went through our training and continue to be trained by our team. We even have a member of our Quality Assurance team spot checking articles to ensure the team is consistently producing quality content that can (and will) win snippets.

If you were to order the same amount of content (212 Small articles) from TextGoods, it would cost $12,720, just over half of what the blog made in the same month. No matter how you slice it, that’s a solid investment.

It may seem like an unattainable amount of content to order in a single month, and it might be for your blog at the moment, but it was a long road for us to get to this point. We only reinvest what the site can afford.

2 years, 7 months ago, when we started this site, we were writing all of the articles ourselves. 6 months ago, we were ordering 1/4 of the content we added in September. Next month, we are hoping to get 300. It’s all a progression.

It’s a simple formula: quality keyword analysis + quality articles = profit.

Content and Keyword Research

We have the content piece figured out pretty good. Our system in place works pretty smoothly and we trust our team to get the job done the way we expect.

The keyword research is where it gets tricky. We are pushing out so much content, its become quite the task to keep article titles and notes up to date. We are using a combination of the TextGoods search analysis, and Keyword Chef.

Keyword Chef has been a huge help in finding the low hanging fruit, but if you are using this tool, make sure to double check yourself to see if the keywords are in fact worth going after. I have noticed a lot of duplicates that show at the top of the list as well as the bottom.

Why are We investing so Much into This Site?

This is easy… because it is working. We are starting to see some real success, and we are doing everything we can to capitalize and continue the growth.

Q4 is going to be a fun ride. I have my projections, but I’ll just wait to share those later.
